Graffiti and flyposting

We aim to clear and remove reported graffiti and flyposting within three working days, where the location is visible and accessible from the highway.

Please note that street art is sometimes used on shop fronts and other surfaces and whilst Bromley Council’s service provider will remove offensive graffiti visible from the public highway on private property, our service providers will not enter onto a third party’s property to clear non-offensive graffiti / street art without the authorisation of the owner. Our contractor will also seek to contact the owner of the property if there is any doubt as to the suitability of the method of use to avoid damage caused by the removal of graffiti. Whilst the council’s service provider will often act to remove graffiti on private property to prevent further anti-social behaviour and to the protect the street scene, it is ultimately the responsibility of landowners such as in the event of any hard to reach or remove graffiti, or when it has been etched/scratched on.

Please note that the council's service provider does not have access to personal data for checking landowner details and are only expected to use reasonable efforts to obtain permission / get a waiver.

We aim to remove offensive or racist graffiti within 24 hours.
