From 1 April 2025, Bromley Council will change bank from HSBC to Barclays Bank Plc. While most residents and partners will be unaffected, some may need to update their payment details to ensure we receive this.

If you pay the council by direct debit, through the council website or by standing order, then there is nothing you need to do and your payments will reach us as usual.

Paying by direct debit is the most efficient way to pay the council and you can easily set this up through our website.

Paying the council by bank transfer

If you make payments to the council by bank transfer, you must use our updated details from 1 April 2025 to make sure this payment reaches us.

Cash payments

Online payments and particularly direct debit are preferred payment methods as they are more efficient to collect, meaning more of your payments can be spent on council services. But if you are making cash payments to the council at the bank or post office, then you will need to request new Giro slips from the council first.

While new slips are being delivered, please find an alternative method of payment, with further guidance on our website depending on the payment you are making. If you are using the Penge Library kiosk to pay, then this will be unaffected.
