Each Health and Wellbeing Board has a statutory responsibility to publish and keep up to date a statement of needs for pharmaceutical services for their population.
This is called the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) (NHS Pharmaceutical Regulations 2013). A PNA records and assesses the need for pharmaceutical services within a specific area.
The PNA in the borough of Bromley is produced by Bromley Council, the Bromley Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) with support provided from Healthy Dialogues.
Drawing on the feedback of residents and the expertise of health professionals and contractors within the borough, the PNA’s findings will help inform local plans for the commissioning of pharmaceutical services and provide support for the decision-making process for applications for new pharmacies or changes of pharmacy premises undertaken by NHS England.
