Trees are often planted in celebration or memory of a loved one and we will offer you a selection of tree species in the park of your choice.

Sponsored Trees are planted as part of the London Borough of Bromley Tree Planting Program, which runs from November to March. If you wish to request a tree planted for the current season, please contact us before the end of July, requests after this will be allocated to the list for the next season.

Important, please note:

  1. The price includes: Tree species, equipment, planting and maintenance. Cost is subject to the species requested and the number of years maintenance. A full quote will be finalised and sent to you once the enquiry is processed.
  2. On the day of planting: the crew will meet with the sponsor and a Bromley Tree Officer at the time requested. Family and friends are welcome to attend the planting. Most plantings take place on week-day mornings.
  3. Our trees have a warranty for the first year and will be replaced if it should die. However, please note Bromley Council unfortunately cannot replace the tree free of charge if it succumbs due to vandalism.
  4. We recommend that you allow us to maintain the tree for three years: Our crews will water, add mulch and adjust the ties throughout each Spring and Summer for those first three years. Experience had shown this helps ensure that the tree has a long and healthy life.
  5. Tree Species: Residents suggestions for tree species are welcome or alternatively LBB can suggest a suitable tree species. Bromley Council buy high quality trees from established UK nurseries which include the required UK plant health passport. Trees are usually 6-8ft tall about 2-3 cm in girth at the soil line and arrive with an established root ball (i.e., they are not bare root).
  6. Location: Please provide a photo of the location or a What3Words name to help the Arboricultural team check that this place is right for the soil type and long-term park management plans.
  7. Signage and other tokens: Please understand, Bromley Council does not allow the installation or placement of the below items on any of the trees in Bromley’s public greenspaces, parks, or verges.
    • Plaques
    • Decorations
    • Flowers
    • Ashes of a person or pet
  8. Planting: Residents should be aware that tree planting season in the UK is November to April every year. LBB do not plant outside of this time as they would have diminished chance of survival. Sponsored or Memorial trees are planted within this time frame.
