Emergency cover is also available for the issue of urgent burial certificates and for marriage and civil partnerships by Registrar General’s Licence only.
This would apply where one party to the marriage or civil partnership is seriously ill and is not expected to recover.

The emergency cover service is available 9:00 to 11:00am on all weekends and bank holidays except Christmas Day.
