Japanese knotweed is a highly invasive weed. It's hard to control, as tiny fragments of its root can produce a living plant. It can grow as much as two centimetres per day and will grow in any type of soil, no matter how poor. It and can grow through walls tarmac and concrete damaging buildings and roads.
We cannot help if knotweed is growing on private land, however there is advice on managing and disposing of Japanese Knotweed and other invasive weeds on the GOV. UK website.
If it is growing on roads, pavements, our parks and open spaces or other council land you can report it to us.
