You can still apply to vote by emergency proxy if after 5pm six working days before an election you have a personal medical or employment emergency that means that you will not be able to attend your designated Polling Station to vote.
How do I apply for an emergency proxy vote?
Complete the relevant application forms on www.aboutmyvote.co.uk
For each application the form will need to be attested by the relevant person outlined on the form.
An application for an emergency proxy vote must be received in the Electoral Services Office by 5pm on the day of the election.
When you appoint an emergency proxy you will need to tell them how you want them to vote on your behalf and they will need to be able to attend your designated Polling Station to be able to cast your vote.
How does my proxy vote on my behalf?
We will confirm receipt of your application in writing. Due to the applications being received near the day of poll, it may not always be practical to be able to contact your proxy. If you can provide an email address for your proxy this would be useful for us to be able to contact them.
Due to Bromley taking part in a Voter ID pilot at the Local Council Elections on 3 May 2018 there will be a requirement for your proxy to provide suitable identification at the polling station in order to vote. Full details can be found on the Voter ID pilot page.
