Waste food of animal origin must be disposed of safely to control the risk of disease to both animals and humans.
All food businesses, including those involved in catering, food production, food preparation, retail premises, restaurants, pubs, cafes, and fast-food shops are required to have a waste disposal contract for general food waste.
You may also wish to contact the council’s business waste service. You can arrange for the council, or another organisation, which must be registered as a waste broker, to collect your waste for a charge. You can check the register of waste carriers, brokers and dealers to ensure that the broker is registered and has a current Waste Carriers Licence.
