On Thursday 4 July there are elections to vote for the Members of the UK Parliament.

Voting

Following Constituency boundary changes, Bromley has responsibility for three constituencies:

  • Beckenham and Penge
  • Bromley and Biggin Hill
  • Orpington

Royal Borough of Greenwich has responsibility for one constituency:

  • Eltham and Chislehurst - which contains the Bromley wards of Mottingham and Chislehurst

Maps of the constituencies

In each constituency there will be one ballot paper - you will have one vote for the candidate of your choice.

Before the election a poll card will be sent to everyone who is eligible to vote.  Ordinary poll cards show when, where and how to vote.  The card is for information only and you do not need it to vote.

Postal Votes

Postal votes were dispatched in Bromley by Monday 24 June.

It was not possible to print vote packs until candidate nominations closed, which meant dispatch was not possible for some until this time, which was over 10 days before the election.

Who can vote in the election?

So long as you are registered, you can vote in the election if you are:

  • Over 18 and either:
  • A British Citizen residing in the United Kingdom or overseas or
  • A Qualifying Commonwealth Citizen (including Cyprus and Malta) or
  • A Citizen of the Republic of Ireland

Please note: European Union citizens are not entitled to vote in this election.

Voter ID

Following the introduction of the Elections Act 2022 electors must show one of the valid forms of ID to be able to vote a polling station at this election.

If electors do not have any of the accepted forms of ID they can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC).
