Private renting
If you are interested in renting in the private sector there are some things that you should consider first:
- Do you have the right to rent? – Any potential landlord should ask you to provide certain documents to enable them to check this.
- What can you afford? –You should consider different areas that you can afford to rent in and the cost of any deposits, rent in advance and fees
- Where should you look? – You can look for properties by visiting letting agents. It is often best to look for independent agents or individual landlords as they are often more flexible. You can also search local newspapers and online search engines.
