Our impartiality is one of our defining characteristics - that’s why we provide an impartial service to everyone
When we use the word impartiality, we mean:
- Not favouring one side over another
- Treating all parties respectfully
- Not having a vested interest in the outcome of any discussions
All our staff and volunteers know they must be impartial, whether they are providing information and advice or acting in a mediating role.
That’s why our staff and volunteers will not make judgements on the views, behaviour or policy of any party.
We support children, young people and their parents or carers taking part in negotiations and discussions with schools and the council. We do this by assisting them to appropriately express their views and wishes. We aim to ensure that everyone understands their rights and responsibilities, and the rights and responsibilities of the other people and organisations involved.
We are committed to making sure that we are as accessible as possible to all children and young people, and their parents and carers.
