The following notice has been issued by the retailer:
URGENT PRODUCT RECALL:
3 section loft ladder Screwfix part number 22949
2 section loft ladder Screwfix part number 58905
Screwfix has recently become aware of a few isolated incidents involving a possible problem with the fixing blocks that hold the ladder sections together. As a precaution the company has therefore decided to recall them.
The recall relates to those ladders manufactured between August 2011 and June 2012. The date of manufacture can be found on the label to the side of the ladder, as shown in the picture below.
Please check the label on your ladder. If you have a ladder manufactured between August 2011 and June 2012, PLEASE STOP USING IT IMMEDIATELY. Ladders manufactured outside of these dates are not affected.
Please return the ladder to your local Screwfix Trade Counter where you will be given a full refund, or please contact the Screwfix Contact Centre on 0500 414141 to arrange collection and a full refund.
