What's happened?
Testing has shown the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloid (PA) above the threshold recommended by the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) within the ASDA St John's Wort tablets – 30 Pack, with a date code and bar code as above. As a precautionary measure we are recalling the affected product and recommend customers do not consume the product. No other batches are affected and ASDA's current St John's Wort product is not affected
What you should do?
If you have purchased the ASDA St John's Wort tablets – 30 Pack with this bar code and expiry date, you can bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.
If you have any immediate medical concerns please speak to your doctor or a healthcare professional, such as a pharmacist, referencing MHRA Drug Alert MDR 013-01/16.
You can also return any opened or unopened packs from the batch numbers stated above by requesting a pre-paid, stamped addressed envelope from The Herbal Research Company Ltd.
