HSA 65 and HAS 85 Cordless Lithium-Ion Hedge Trimmers
STIHL is recalling the HSA 65 and HSA 85 cordless Lithium-Ion hedge trimmers. In rare cases, an electronic malfunction can occur in these products. As a result, under certain circumstances, the malfunction can lead to a situation where the tool starts by only pressing one of the switch devices - the switch on the operating handle, or on the loop handle. In addition, the malfunction can, in rare instances, cause the blades to continue to move after the trigger is released. These conditions create a risk of injury.
Owners of HSA 56 and HSA 85 Li-Ion hedge trimmers are requested stop using the tools and to consult their STIHL dealer. STIHL will, via the STIHL dealers, exchange all operable HSA 65 and HSA 85 hedge trimmers for new successor models of these tools (HSA 66 and HSA 86) free of charge. Batteries and battery chargers, however, will not be exchanged, as these can be used with the new tools.
This is a precautionary measure taken by STIHL as a responsible manufacturer.
