Product description
A white plastic tub of skin cream with circular white lid and yellow label.
Hazard
The product presents a serious chemical risk as it was found to contain 22310 mg/kg (2.23%w/w) hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is prohibited in cosmetics as it is a skin sensitiser and may cause allergic contact dermatitis. Additionally, hydroquinone was not marked on the ingredients list and some required documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 or the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013.
Corrective action
The goods have been seized by the local authority and have been destroyed.
