West Wickham Library is currently being refurbished as part of a multi-million pound investment into the borough’s library services. The refurbished and extended library will provide an improved library space with additional children's learning and reading areas, new hire spaces for local groups, Changing Places toilets and a modern café with sheltered outdoor seating.

Works began on site in 2023 and are now set to be completed to allow the library to reopen to the public in April 2025. A delay with procuring essential materials to complete the site has meant the schedule had to be adjusted as completion could no longer be achieved by the end of 2024 as planned. Residents are thanked for their ongoing understanding while extensive improvements are delivered to the library.

In the meantime residents can continue to access local library services at the temporary library at 77 Addington Road, which will continue to be open until the library works are completed, with further libraries also available across the borough.

To support the refurbishment of West Wickham Library, affordable housing is also being developed next to the library site, which will deliver 26 new Bromley homes for Bromley people.

Further updates about these works will be provided on this page in due course.
