Information for landowners
Protection for landowners against the establishment of Town or Village Greens - Section 15A of the Commons Act 2006
Landowners can deposit a landowner statement and map under section 15A(1) of the Commons Act 2006 with the use of the prescribed CA16 form to protect their land from registration as a town or village green, whilst still allowing access to it. This will end or interrupt any period of use of the land ‘as a right’ for lawful sports and pastimes and so not allowing the 20 year period to accrue and satisfy the requirements for a town or village green application.
