Local Council elections took place across all London boroughs on Thursday 5 May, 2022. Following the count on Friday 6 May, 58 councillors were elected across 22 wards in Bromley with either one, two or three representing each one.
Who can vote in this election?
So long as they are registered to vote, people who can vote (the franchise) in this election are:
- British (or British Overseas Territory) Citizens residing in the United Kingdom
- Qualifying Commonwealth citizens
- Citizens of the Republic of Ireland
- European Union citizens
Please note: British citizens living overseas (who are not Members of the Armed Forces, Crown Servants, British Council employees or their spouse or civil partner) are not entitled to vote in this election.
Ward boundary changes
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has recently undertaken an electoral review of the London Borough of Bromley ward arrangements. As a result of the review, there have been alterations to all the current ward boundaries, polling districts and polling places in the borough.

Voting
There will be one ballot paper, which will vary depending on the number of councillors your ward elects to the council:
- 15 wards – Beckenham Town & Copers Cope, Bickley & Sundridge, Bromley Common & Holwood, Bromley Town, Chislehurst, Clock House, Farnborough & Crofton, Hayes & Coney Hall, Kelsey & Eden Park, Penge & Cator, Petts Wood & Knoll, Shortlands & Park Langley, St Mary Cray, St Paul’s Cray and West Wickham are represented by three councillors and therefore you will have up to three votes (X) on the ballot paper.
- 6 Wards – Biggin Hill, Chelsfield, Crystal Palace & Anerley, Mottingham, Orpington and Plaistow are represented by two councillors and therefore you will have up to two votes (X) on the ballot paper
- 1 Ward (Darwin) is represented by one councillor and therefore you have one vote (X) on the ballot paper.

Voter ID
Unlike in the local elections in 2018, when Bromley was part of a pilot scheme, no Voter ID is required to vote at a polling station at this election.
