Five vehicle owners have recently been prosecuted and ordered to pay fines totalling £3,062 for failing to provide information relating to Blue Badge misuse offences.
Blue Badges are available for people with conditions that affect their mobility and must only be used for the benefit of the badge holder.
The offences included using counterfeit, cancelled and stolen badges and using badges after the holders had passed away to take advantage of Blue Badge scheme parking concessions which the drivers would not have been entitled to.
The following vehicle owners including one organisation were prosecuted under section 17 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1972 for failing to provide information in relation to the identification of a driver after a suspected Blue Badge misuse incident.
Vehicle owners prosecuted and details of the associated Blue Badge offences:
- Tuskerdirect Limited of Hatters Lane, Watford – failed to provide details of the vehicle hirer following a penalty charge notice which was issued because the Blue Badge on display within the vehicle had been cancelled as reported lost.
- Mr Giorgos Dritsas of West Green Road, Haringey – Blue Badge on display within the vehicle was stolen.
- Miss Jordan Osaslee of Church Road, Crystal Palace – Blue Badge on display within the vehicle was counterfeit.
- Ms Nicola Cattle of Golden Lane Estate, London, EC1 – Blue Badge on display within the vehicle had been cancelled as the holder had passed away.
- Mr Charlie Holland of Woodcote Drive, Orpington – Blue Badge on display within the vehicle had been cancelled as the holder had passed away.
Only one of the Blue Badges associated with these offences was issued by Bromley while the rest were issued by other local authorities. In one of the cases, the Blue Badge was counterfeit and as such, not issued by a local authority. Two of the vehicle owners are Bromley residents.
Since January of this year, more than 20 motorists have been prosecuted for similar Blue Badge misuse related offences in Bromley.

- Miss Jordan Osaslee of Church Road, Crystal Palace, was proved guilty in her absence at a hearing at Bexley Magistrates Court on 02/08/21. She was fined £440 and ordered to pay costs of £279 and a surcharge of £44 - total £763.
- Ms Nicola Cattle of Golden Lane Estate, London, EC1, pleaded guilty by post ahead of a hearing at Bexley Magistrates Court on 02/08/21. She was fined £246 and ordered to pay costs of £279 and a surcharge of £34 - total £559.
- Mr Charlie Holland of Woodcote Drive, Orpington, was proved guilty in his absence at a hearing at Bexley Magistrates Court on 16/08/21. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £279 and a surcharge of £34 - total £533.
