Bromley trading standards is warning about text messages claiming to be about the government's Energy Bill Support Scheme.
The text message gives a link to apply for the discount – do not click the link. It is automatic for eligible households; you do not need to apply for it.
All households with a domestic electricity connection in England, Scotland and Wales are eligible for the discount, which provides a non-repayable £400 to help with energy bills over winter 2022 to 2023.
