A series of reusable fabric gift bag making workshops are taking place, with interested residents being encouraged to book their place whilst spaces last.

The reusable gift bags, ideal for Christmas, are a better environmental option than using gift wrapping paper.  Wrapping paper is likely to only be used once and typically cannot be recycled.  The practical ‘how to’ workshops are being organised thanks to Greener & Cleaner at their Community Hub In The Glades, with support from the Council.

Councillor Aisha Cuthbert, Executive Councillor for Environment said, “We are pleased to be working with Greener & Cleaner to find alternatives to using wrapping paper, which will probably quickly find its way into non-recyclable refuse collections.  By making a fabric gift bag which can be re-used year after year and re-gifted at the same time, you can add to happy memories each year and start a new Christmas tradition.”

Parisa Wright, Greener & Cleaner’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer said, “Get the festive season all wrapped up - the easy way.  Why not join us to make and take home a beautiful waste and hassle-free way to wrap your presents. At the same time you’ll also learn how to sew reusable gift bags for any occasion.  You’ll save money and time, learn a new skill, reduce waste and won’t have a wrapping
headache!”

Visit the Greener & Cleaner website for details.  Visit Eventbrite to book a place at one of the Reusable Fabric Gift Bag Making Workshops on one of the following dates:
