Bromley Trading Standards urges residents to be aware of missed parcel scam texts particularly at this time of the year.

They claim to be from the Royal Mail or other well-known delivery businesses, but in reality, it is an attempt to obtain your personal details and ultimately your money.

How you can protect yourself:

If you are expecting a parcel from that particular delivery business, don't click on the link but check with them directly using the links in the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) advice – which also covers malware – below:

Protect others by reporting incidents.

If you have given your bank details, contact your bank as soon as possible by calling 159.

Report to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

Visit the Citizens Advice website for help and advice or call 0808 223 1133.

Forward a suspicious text message to 7726.
