Adult Care staff from across Bromley were honoured for their hard work and achievements at the Bromley Adult Care Awards ceremony on June 22.

A wide range of organisations and staff were represented and in attendance at Oakley House in Bromley for a ceremony to celebrate and recognise Bromley’s Adult Care sector.

Care services provide crucial daily support to hundreds of residents helping them to live the best possible life. Nothing is too much trouble for this group of wonderful, kind, and caring people who relentlessly give their all to support the most vulnerable in our community, without the expectation of a huge spotlight and fanfare.

Day Centres, Domiciliary Care, Extra Care Housing, Learning and Physical Disability Services, Mental Health Services and Older People’s Care Homes in Bromley were among the shortlisted nominees for awards including The Worker Award, The Team Award, The Manager Award, The Recruitment and The Retention Awards, and The Diane Smith Award for outstanding contribution to adult care in Bromley.

Councillor Diane Smith, Executive Councillor for Adult Care and Health said, “Congratulations to all the finalists and winners from the Bromley’s Adult Care Awards. Being able to show gratitude to the care services we have across our borough is an important part of recognising the essential role they play in giving our residents the support they need to live fulfilled lives no matter their circumstances. The Bromley Adult Care Awards is about celebrating and honouring you.”

The hotly contested special Diane Smith Award was presented to Karina Brown of Home Instead for delivering excellence in many arenas of care service including achieving high client and employee satisfaction, providing free exercise and community events for residents with dementia, and recently reviving an at-home nail cutting service for those who would typically struggle to access services like this within the community.

All winners of the award will also be entered into the nominations for the Great British Care Awards, which are a series of regional events throughout the UK celebrating excellence in the care sector.
