Bromley residents have a good reason to look forward to darker evenings this Autumn.

A brand new, free event - the Winter Lights Spectacular - is set to light up the town centre from 5pm to 9pm on Wednesday 25 October.

This unique event will bring beautiful light attractions to the town centre, including: light up walkthrough tunnels, a giant light up walk on piano and a huggable sensory sphere installation. The event will also feature fascinating light up performers who will bring a touch of magic to the evening.

The free event is being delivered in partnership between Your Bromley BID and Bromley Council and is the third BR1 Lates event to take place in Bromley this year. This follows Bromley’s selection as one of the Mayor of London’s three Night Time Enterprise Zones, which has already seen thousands attend the special Library Lates event in April and the High Street Lates Festival of Sport and Wellbeing in July.

Further attractions will include street food, pre-bookable cocktail masterclasses, glow in the dark face painters and light up family games, ensuring there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Frances Forrest, BID Manager at Your Bromley, commented: “We are funded by the businesses of Bromley and the Winter Lights Spectacular has been designed to attract people to the town centre, bringing in more visitors and boosting our night time economy. We are really excited to bring the Winter Lights Spectacular to Bromley and we can’t wait to see the amazing attractions lighting up our high street.”

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing said: “Bromley is set to shine bright into the evening once again, with this fantastic entertainment coming soon to the town centre. I want to thank our partners and the Your Bromley BID in particular for all their efforts in delivering this event and in helping our town centre to thrive. The previous BR1 Lates events have already seen thousands of residents and visitors come together in the town centre, with this programme proving without a doubt that you can stay local in Bromley for a great night out.”

London’s Night Czar, Amy Lamé, said: “I’m delighted that the Mayor of London’s Night Time Enterprise Zone programme is helping Bromley to put on this Winter Lights Spectacular. As the nights draw in, this fantastic event will bring together residents and visitors to enjoy everything the town centre has to offer, following the hugely successful BR1 Lates events earlier this year. Our high streets play a vital role in powering the economy, bringing together friends and communities both day and night, and by working together we can build a more prosperous London for all.”

The Night Time Enterprise Zone programme will see over £250,000 invested in events and improved infrastructure in Bromley town centre with Bromley Council and partners, Your Bromley, collectively providing match funding to the grant received from the Mayor of London. The event programme is being delivered in partnership with Your Bromley, Greenwich Leisure Limited and Proactive Bromley.
