Propping work to reopen The Hill car park in Bromley is underway, with the car park anticipated to reopen next week.
Councillor Nicholas Bennett JP, Executive Councillor for Transport, Highways and Road Safety announced at tonight’s council meeting that work has been underway for a week. Councillor Bennett JP said, “It is positive news that the car park will reopen early next week. This will in time for the last few days of Christmas shopping. I thank retailers and motorists for their patience while we made the car park safe.”
The news follows the closure of the car park for safety reasons in October which followed the latest condition survey. Structural propping work is underway on the ground, first and second floors.
There has continued to be available spaces in all of Bromley town centre car parks, with The Hill Car park users being advised to use alternative nearby parking. Both the Station Road car park and the Civic Centre multistorey car park in Stockwell Close are close by, with on street car parking also available.
