Additional Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers are now patrolling streets across the borough following an agreement with APCOA.
The continuing partnership with APCOA means that there are now more street-based patrols and checks happening across the borough, with officers able to promptly report and arrange clearance of incidents of fly-tipping, prevent cases of littering and dog fouling, and issue on-the-spot fixed penalty notices (FPN) to offenders where necessary.
The new arrangements will help tackle littering and other issues, with APCOA’s Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers working alongside Bromley Council’s existing Neighbourhood Investigation Team, patrolling on streets, in town centres, and in parks and open spaces across the borough.
Councillor Angela Page, Executive Councillor for Public Protection and Enforcement, says “We are looking at all aspects to help keep our streets clean, which also includes enforcement, helping make Bromley even better! We are committed to tackling litter and other enviro-crime offences with the new APCOA team meaning that we will be better able to proactively respond to known littering problems.”
Kim Challis, Regional Managing Director (UK&I) at APCOA said: “We are delighted to have extended the range of services we provide to Bromley Council to work with its Neighbourhood Investigation Team tackling littering and other issues in the borough. APCOA brings extensive experience in environmental enforcement services and our managers and Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers are excited about this new partnership and the opportunity to make a difference to the local community in Bromley.”
