Bromley Council is inviting residents to share their views on plans for the layout of the proposed new Bromley Central library.
The news follows proposals to relocate the Bromley Central library into the heart of Bromley town centre, with the council seeking residents’ views on newly developed proposals following a survey held earlier this summer.
The proposals, which take into account feedback from July’s survey, set out the potential layout for the ground and first floors of the new library. Residents may view visuals of these proposals at the current Bromley Central library and also in the window of the proposed new library site at 145, High Street (formerly Top Shop). Residents are invited to share their views on an online survey which will run until 5 September 2024.
Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing, commented, “We know Bromley Central library is already a popular and busy library and one of the most visited in London. These latest plans are another step towards our vision of high quality library facilities being secured for the future. We know what an important role libraries play in the borough and it’s really important that the proposals we are developing reflect the preferences of all our residents. I strongly encourage everyone to take part in the survey and help shape the future Bromley Central library.”
Further information and a link to the survey can be found on Bromley Council’s website. Feedback from the survey will be used to develop further proposals and a report which will be shared with the council’s Executive Committee in September.
