‘Everything’ is a new short film showcasing the gratitude and life-long connection children and young people develop for their foster carers.

Interested residents and others are being encouraged to watch the short film to find inspiration and see how becoming a foster carer can forever change the lives of others and guide them from an unstable childhood towards a brighter future.

Councillor Kate Lymer, Executive Councillor for Children, Education and Families said, “’Everything’ is an extremely moving showcase of the huge effect foster carers have on those they care for. Whether a short-term or long-term placement, the bonds developed can last a lifetime and be foundations of support and stability that help children and young people thrive and fulfil their potential. We are always looking for more to join our vital existing foster carers for this important work, so if you are interested in becoming a foster carer I recommend checking out ‘Everything’ and getting in contact with our team to learn how Bromley Council can support you on your journey to become a foster carer.”

With more foster carers needed for these crucial roles, ‘Everything’ was produced by Reel TwentyFive, CAN, and an ever-growing partnership of councils and organisations, including Bromley Council and children’s trusts with the shared goal of creating a cinematic showcase of the life-changing journey foster carers take together with the people they care for.

‘Everything’ follows Mike and Will and Zara, some of the children he has cared for, through scenes taken from different moments in their lives together, from the first day they arrived at their new home and through to adulthood where they have now grown and built their own lives and want to show Mike, their foster carer, how appreciative they are for everything he has done for them.

With 356 children looked after in Bromley currently, Bromley’s Fostering Team became part of this collaborative project to create new ways of inspiring and encouraging more people to start their own journey to become a foster carer, and to join the many others in the borough providing amazing support and stability for children and young people in the borough.

For anyone interested in becoming a foster carer, Bromley’s Fostering Team encourages them to get in touch to learn more about the support and training on offer.
