A month-long showcase of Bromley’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) community was crowned with a special finale event at The Warren in Hayes.

Children, young people, families, school staff and service providers were invited to the Celebrating Bromley SEND Stars event on 28 November to celebrate their contributions to the SEND community across the borough for their efforts and achievements over the past year.

Councillor Kate Lymer, Executive Councillor for Children, Education and Families said, “Our Celebration Bromley SEND Stars event was a fabulous bookend to a month of events spotlighting the hard work and commitment of those who help children and young people from our SEND community to develop and achieve their goals in life. The event left everyone energised after celebrating together, and seeing the fruits of all the efforts of our SEND community and support services is both heartening and inspiring and is a great opportunity to learn more about our SEND stars who change lives and inspire every day. Look up the SEND Local Offer in Bromley to learn more about the support on offer in the borough and get involved where you can.”

Over 100 of Bromley’s SEND Stars were nominated and considered for shortlisting for their contributions to the SEND community over the past year and showcased the inspirational personal achievements of children and young people with SEND in the borough.
