Whilst certain modelled data shows that Bromley may be the greenest and least polluted of all London boroughs, we know that poor air quality is associated with a number of adverse health impacts. Additionally, air pollution particularly affects the most vulnerable in society: children and older people, and those with heart and lung conditions.
To address air pollution, Bromley declared an air quality management area in the borough for Nitrogen Dioxide in 2006, this was extended in 2020 to incorporate a wider area.
