Further information

Rain is taken away by road drains that  prevent the road or pavement from becoming flooded.  We clean the borough's 35,000 road drains once every two years and more often in areas prone to flooding, to ensure water runs away as efficiently as possible.

Generally, the Environment Agency are responsible if a river floods. Thames Water are responsible if a main sewer floods.

Please note that we are only responsible for road or pavement drainage. We may be able to assist if you are having problems with your own drainage or the drains on a neighbouring property
