Provision for pupils who are permanently excluded from school
Bromley Trust Academy is the alternative provision provider that supports KS1, 2, 3 and 4 pupils living in Bromley who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. BTA has both a primary and secondary campus, which Bromley pupils can access.
Each provision setting:
- provides an educational setting for primary or secondary aged pupils living in Bromley who have been permanently excluded from school.
- offers preventative places away from a mainstream school on a fixed term basis, providing an opportunity for the pupil to reflect on his/her attitude and approach towards school. This will allow the school time to review its support strategies for the pupil and plan a fresh start for his/her return, based on an assessment by the alternative provision. There are local authority mechanisms in place for this to occur.
- KS1 to 3 focus on reintegration to mainstream. KS4 focus is on gaining qualifications to empower young people to access Post-16 education, employment or training.
