Volunteers play an essential role in supporting the work of the YOS with children in the justice system. They provide a link to the community and can be positive role models for children and young people.
To become a volunteer, applicants must:
- Be over the age of 18
- Complete a full DBS clearance
- Have satisfactory references
- Have common sense and a commitment to help others
- Be able to commit to two to three hours per fortnight
- Complete a training programme and attend monthly support group sessions or additional training as required.
