You can use this form to apply for approval of your food business establishment.
Approval is required by food businesses that do not sell food directly to the public and who handle, prepare or produce products of animal origin, for example; meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, cheese or manufacture foods that contain products of animal origin such as ready meals, pies, pasties etc.
If approval is required you must apply to the local authority well in advance of your proposed start date. It is an offence to operate your food business without prior approval of your food businesses activities.
If you intend to set up a business as a caterer, food retail outlet, home caterer or home baker etc, then you would normally be registered as a Food Business Establishment. Your food business does not require approval and you do not need to complete this approval application.
