Starting Primary Education in Bromley 2025, use this form to register for consideration under medical or social needs.

Closing date: 15 January 2025

In exceptional circumstances there is discretion to prioritise a child on the grounds of their or their family’s acute medical and social need for a preferred school.

In most cases, a child’s medical or social needs can be met in any mainstream school. If you feel, however, that there is an acute medical or social reason why your child should be offered a particular school you must tick the Medical and Social box alongside the preference on your online application.

Supporting evidence setting out the reasons why the school is the only one to meet the child’s needs must be provided on this form, by the closing date (15 January 2025). You must:

  • give reasons why your child should attend a particular school
  • state the consequences for your child if he/she had to attend an alternative school
  • provide clear, readable copies of documentation from the relevant professional, such as a letter of support from a hospital consultant, the special support service, social worker or similar professionals.

If sending by post: clear, readable photocopies.

If sending by email: pdf attachments, not photos taken on a mobile phone.

If you are unable to attach your supporting documentation to this form, please ensure that they are emailed to primary.admissions@bromley.gov.uk or posted to Admissions and Transport, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH. Please quote your child’s name, date of birth and the submission number of this form with the documentation. The Council are not responsible for any documents posted that do not arrive with the Admissions Team by the closing date.

All medical and social applications for schools out of Bromley will be passed to the relevant Local Authority

If you wish your application to be considered under this criterion, complete this form and submit it together with your supporting documents by 15 January 2025.

The application will not be considered under Medical or Social Needs without full supporting documentation.

Please only use the "Previous" and "Next" buttons, not your browser back button
