The special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) outreach teams provide support and advice about children and young people aged 0 to 25 years for early years settings, schools and families.

There are four outreach teams. 

Early Years Inclusion Team

Early Years Inclusion Team (EYIT) provides an early intervention and advice service for children in Bromley with a wide range of special educational needs and/or disability (SEND) and their families, who attend an early years setting in Bromley.

Schools and colleges (4 to 25 years)

SEND advisory team (SENDAT)

The SEND advisory team (SENDAT) provide specialist teacher advice and support for children and young people (CYP) 4 to 25 years of age with an education, health, and care plan (EHC plan, often referred to as an EHCP) in mainstream schools and the specialist sector.

Sensory support (0 to 19 years)

Hearing impairment

The hearing team consists of three teams, peripatetic hearing, primary deaf base at Griffins and the deaf centre at Darrick Wood School, providing continuing support for children and young people with a diagnosed hearing loss (0 to 19 years).

Vision impairment

The vision team provides specialist teaching and support for children and young people with a vision impairment from birth to 19 years. 

Assessing a child or young person for special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)

If the school, early years setting or college has identified that your child or young person has or believes that your child or young person could have SEND, they will assess them and put in place support to meet their needs. To find out more, please visit the SEND support webpage
