Street Friends - Risk assessment important information

  • If an issue requires urgent attention, ring 0300 303 8658 (8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday) or 0300 303 8671 if out of hours.
  • Do not litter-pick in areas where works are restricted, or where workmen are in place, or where the public do not have a right of entry.
  • Ensure that you have contacts’ phone numbers in your mobile phone in case of emergency but call emergency services in the first instance if there is an immediate threat to life.
  • Always follow LBB health and safety guidance.
  • Use the litter picker in accordance with any relevant safety instructions and training.
  • Ensure that there is a first aid kit nearby in case of injury.
  • Carry sufficient water for hydration and hygiene purposes or to wash hazardous substances from your body.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, near-misses, and other dangerous occurrences as soon as is practicable to Jackie Baxter Environmental Campaigns Officer (street.friends@bromley.gov.uk / 020 8464 3333).
