The government allows local councils providing domiciliary and home care services to charge for these services. The government assumes that all councils charge and this is reflected in the amount of money it gives to us. It is therefore essential that we charge to make sure that we can continue to provide essential services to all the people who need help to live safely at home. Our charges for services provided for the current year are detailed in the contributions policy for non residential care services. All clients receiving a service including Carelink (except in special circumstances) will be financially assessed in accordance with the Department of Health care and support statutory guidance and Bromley's contributions policy. The assessment will determine how much you can reasonably afford to pay, taking into account your financial and personal circumstances. This could mean there will be no charge at all.
