Witnesses must be able to speak and understand English and have the mental capacity to understand what is taking place. Can the Register Office provide witnesses? No. We do not have the staff capacity to supply them. It is your responsibility to bring two witnesses with you. Are the witnesses required to bring proof of ID on the day?
